Introductions!

Hello!  We're the Thomson family.  It's good to meet you!  Let me tell you about ourselves.  :)

Our Family

I'm Sara, and this is my husband, John.

We currently live in Texas (Dallas area).  John grew up here, so his parents are about 15 minutes away.  I grew up in Utah, which is where my parents still live.

We have 2 wonderful puppies.  We were lucky enough to get Ava (our female 50 lb brown Labrador mix) back in Utah when she was 2 years old, and we found Uno (our male 20 lb white terrier mix) on the streets of Texas a couple years later.

Education and Jobs

John currently works as the Financial Director for a town here in Texas.  I am a Registered Nurse working on the Heart and Vascular unit of the hospital near us.

John and I met at Brigham Young University, where he and I both graduated in 2018.  I graduated in Public Health with a minor in Spanish, and John graduated in Political Science.

John was then accepted to complete a Masters program in Public Administration at Texas A&M University, and I didn't know what I wanted to do so I figured I'd figure it out in Texas. :P
After a lot of research and soul searching and prayer, I decided I needed to get a nursing degree - right as Covid began.  I ended up graduating with a Bachelor's of Nursing from the University of Texas--Arlington in December of 2022.

What do we do for fun??

We love being outside.  We go hiking anywhere we can.  We have a goal to visit all of the National Parks together by the time we die.  We have currently visited 20, so we're about 1/3 of the way there!

Glacier National Park

White Sands National Park
(I know we look like we're freezing, but the white on the ground isn't snow, it's sand!)

Saguaro National Park

We also just love traveling and being outside in general, so we love going to state parks, museums, attending the Texas State Fair, and visiting other countries when we can.  John loves to learn the history of the country we go to and see the ruins and historical significance of the things around him.  My favorite thing about going to other countries is the food.

These are monasteries built on top of the rocks in the Meteora, Greece.

I had fun at museums in Chicago. :P

Here we are waiting for the eclipse to pass through Dallas!

Anything we do, we love being together.
